About Us

Behind our company’s success are different people united by the same vision — one summarized in ensuring total customer satisfaction.

The Company

It was 1984 when Jelexie Bakeshop was established in Tarlac City as a home-based bakeshop by its founder, Mr. Armando Tan who had just migrated from China to the Philippines. With its first branch in M.H. Del Pilar Street, Jelexie was mainly engaged in the distribution of breads in different canteens and supermarkets.

After Mr. Tan passed away in 1990, his eldest son, Mr. Jimmy Tan, took over the company and began to enter Jelexie into the retail world. He opened two more branches within Tarlac province that same year and, wanting to live out his father's mission to become strategically competitive and innovative, opened another branch in 2000 and has been opening other branches almost every year since then. Today, it stands proud with 40 branches all over Tarlac, Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, and Pangasinan.

The company’s catchphrase, “A Passion for Excellence,” continues to inspire each and every individual who works toward a customer-oriented goal. In return, Jelexie takes pride in its company scholarship program, ensuring that even the children of its workers are not forgotten when it comes to fulfilling its social obligations. There are currently 21 scholars under this program and it has already produced 2 college graduates.

The Community

Aside from producing breads that continue to satisfy the taste of the masses, Jelexie has been active in giving back to its community. It has partnered with several government sectors such as the Philippine Army and the Department of Education with its nutrition programs all around the province, and has been active in typhoon relief programs whenever the need arises. Jelexie is proud of where it is now, carrying on to serve as it always has.
